Queering these questions, What’s up with you? is both sculptural research and performative intervention. Based on the question of how invisible body perceptions might take shape, absurd textile objects are created that complement the flesh. Each object can be experienced with several senses: it has sound, smell, a tactile inner life and interesting surfaces.
As epitheses, the objects visualize what would otherwise remain hidden: a chronic pain, a longing in the midst of dysphoria, a walking aid as part of the body… In this way, they counter claims about human bodies and open up the space to explore our own forms and mobilities. This is what we do as performers in the space. During the most expected activity, „looking at the exhibition“, we explore: How do I show what I would otherwise need words for? How does this visibility feel? How do I move together with my body?
In this context, the very thing that distances und from others in everyday life becomes a connecting element – an experience shared.
